The reviews below contain spoilers, so I recommend you read at your own discretion — and only if you are willing to encounter spoilers! To Feyre, the Fae are a hated tale as old as time, yet not enough to scare her out of the forest, where she hunts to keep her family fed. However, when Feyre knowingly kills a Fae patrol in the form of a wolf , she finds herself whisked away to the Spring Court of Prythian by the handsome Fae Lord, Tamlin. Too soon, however, this brief illusion of safety and happiness is shattered, and Feyre finds herself plunged into the horrors Under the Mountain, a terrible court ruled by the self-proclaimed Fae Queen, Amarantha. Forced to compete in a series of grueling and torturous trials in order to save her friends, Feyre must make impossible decisions that will tear her far too human heart apart.

Crippled, financially, highly recommend this if you're an adult, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all. But story-wise, sacrifice and true courage really are shining points in this nov. But I highly. Beauty. Maas.

Beautifully crafted. Maas has weaved yet another spell-binding storyline, filled with danger, faeries and a whirling romance sure to leave any reader dizzy. Feyre is a huntress, a human, a captive in her promise to protect her family no matter what the cost. Yet, poverty, filth and starvation are nothing; nothing compared to the danger that lurks beyond the wall hidden in the woods… But all it takes: one arrow, one kill, one mistake, and the Fae have come to claim her life forever. Snatched from her mundane existence to the world across the wall, as a prisoner Feyre is finally free. A thorn amongst roses, in the Spring Court, Feyre must find her courage, compassion and above all her heart.
